Seeing as it was the last game of the baseball season and we didn't even get to a spring training game we thought Nick should see some bball. We purposely showed up to the game about 30 min late and scalped a couple tickets on the lower level for $15 each. It was kind of a slow game (isn't all baseball?) so Nick and Jen went to the little guys area for awhile. They came back in time to see the Rockies walk in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth, Go DBacks!
Let's go to the ballgame.
We have been collecting our change for a while now and seeing as we have a coin sorter Mom thought it would be fun for Nick to help with the sorting. Nick enjoyed himself.
Short but sweet.
The blog seems to be a weekend update system, I wonder why? Anywho, we had a good weekend if not long due to Nick not needing, I mean not taking, naps on the weekend. Makes for a long day trying to wear out a 2 year old and all you succeed in doing is wearing out the old people.
Mom and Dan did 90% of the painting on Nick's new room. The 2nd kid gets Nick's old room. Now for the touch up and letting the room air out and Nick is going to move in. The weather should cool down a bit soon and then we will pretty much live outside I think.
Nick taking it easy while playing with the sand and water.
Along with the change from the toddler room to the transition room comes the new playground. Nick loves the new playground which has a jungle gym, a bike carousel, lots of little trikes and a sand pit. Most days we spend a little time out side after we pick Nick up.

The bike carousel
We took Nick (and the new baby for that matter) on his first ride in Indian Bend wash. We started around McDowell and rode to Camelback rd and back. Overall it was a fun ride and Nick enjoyed it. Most importantly Mom and Dad didn't suffer to much. After the ride we wanted to make sure we added back the calories we wasted on the bike ride so we went to the Chuckbox for the best burger in town.

Rest break by the lake, with a LOUD remote control boat.
Nick was not amused.
So it was a busy weekend, LOTS happened. The first thing in the morning was Nick's first soccer practice. He wasn't sure about it at first but he got to run around and dribble so he got into it. The only problem is that the field is by his favorite park so he pretty much was ready for soccer to finish so he could go play.

After soccer Nick and Dad split from the girls so they could shop and we could play and eat popsicles. We then met up with Herb and Bev for lunch at Baby Kay's. This was when Dad found out that Mom was in an accident after they left. The other peoples fault but still a pain.

Doh!
At this point Dad isn't feeling well so Nick and Dad head home for some sleep. Turns out that Dad is NOT feeling well and likely has Strep throat (and is down for the weekend + Monday). Since Dad couldn't play, Nick took Grandma and Joyce to the park to play.
Park your bottom in the seat Grandma.
Dad wasn't much help for the rest of the weekend so props to Mom for keeping the train rolling. Grandma and Joyce left Sunday but we will see them in January when the new guy comes.
On a somber note I want to give a shout to Dan Wiseman who passed away last weekend in a motorcycle accident, you will be missed. Our thoughts are with his two little girls. Sorry to miss the celebration for Dan but I was down hard with the strep.
I am doing much better now with some antibiotics kicking in.
Jen, Grandma and Joyce drove to Vegas while Nick and I went in style (well the fast way anyhow). Not enough room for 5 people for 5 hours. So how did dad manage to keep Nick happy for the trip? It's a secret...

Nick's absolute favorite part of Vegas - the Dragon!

While Grandma is here (and since Nick has limitless energy) we decided to go to the zoo and wear everyone out. It was successful. First we went to the petting zoo where Nick go reaquainted with his goat pals. Lest we forget to ride the carousel, Nick rode with everyone to make sure everyone got a turn.
