Let the potty training begin

So now we start the potty training in earnest.  He gets a lot of visibility to training at school with all the other kids but now we are wearing underwear.  Results are very good so far.  We woke up and put on the underwear, an hour later I asked if he had to go and he said no, well actually yea.  He went pee and poop, yea!

Adam update

While I haven't got around to the Disneyland recap I do have a little guy that keeps on rolling.  As per requests, Adam weighs a hefty 18.2lbs as of this morning (up a 1.5lbs from a month ago).  He is also rolling over from belly to back and from back to belly as of a couple days ago.  Jen started making his food and his first food (other then rice cereal) was Avacado, a Nick favorite, and he loves it.  Next up is bananas.

Adam has always been a good sleeper but he is doing really good lately.  Pretty much over the vacation he would go to sleep between 9-10pm and sleep through the night with no dream feed so we continued with the no dream feed and moved his bedtime to 8:30 from 7:30 and has slept through to 6:30 each night (knock on wood that it continues).  All in all the little dude is doing great and a happy little boy.

Pull my finger.

Back from Disneyland

We are back home from an 8 day extravaganza at Disneyland.  We also met up with some of Jen's family while we were there and showed off the kiddos.  Many, many pictures will be put up tomorrow as well as a trip review.  One thing I will say is, Wow, humidity sucks.  It was mid to low 70's for the high and we were broiling every day, yuck.  Time for some rest now.

Late night

Yesterday was a long day, in fact we closed down Disney. Nick and Dad were still floating on Small World when we were supposed to be getting out. We started the day with some Ihop and then over to Disney for some Nemo, Autotopia (Nick gets to crash, I mean drive) and Monorail. After our daily nap Nick and Mom went to see the Pixar parade which Nick really liked. A quick dinner at Downtown Disney and we were off to toontown to check out Mickey's house. We even got to see Mickey, yeah! Goofy and Daisy weren't at home but we checked out their pads anyway. On the way out we hit Small World again (my Dad would be dissappointed, Nick isn't singing the song over and over... sorry pops).

Character Breakfast

This morning we had a buffet breakfast with Minnie and friends in the park. There was Minnie, Pooh, Tigger, Chip and Dale, Eore and Captain Hook (of which Nick was not too happy). I thought the idea was excellent (thanks to Mom for making it happen) and suspect in a few years the boys will love it.

Disneyland - the beginning

We are into our second day at Disney (though yesterday we got in late). Speaking of yesterday, we had a real live earthquake. The boys were in the car waiting for Mom who was in the store getting some stuff. I was sitting there and was thinking the van was idling crazy rough... Mom came back and said stuff fell off the shelves and such, turns out it was a 4.7.

We saw a parade yesterday at Disneyland and Nick was pretty excited. Today at Dland we rode Dumbo, the Storyland boat, spent some time at toon town and rode the Railroad around the park. We then came back to nap (which was an adventure itself). We are going to swim and head back to the park this afternoon.

It's swimming time

It is officially summer at the Andresen household and with summer comes swimming.  Nick is certifiable about swimming, asking to go swimming when he wakes up, on the way to school, on the way home and before dinner.  Only stopping to follow the steps that Mom and Dad say are required if he is to go swimming (like eating and washing hands).  He remembered and can do Monkey climb and "Elbow Elbow" to get out of the pool from last years swim lesson.  Now to get the guy swimming full time.

Crazy jump in the pool Nick.

Having fun swimming with the noodle.

Adam is growing

Our little one continues on the road to growing up.  This week he started eating rice cereal (definitely not improving the smell of his poop) and is doing good.  Next week he will start on other solids like avacodo and sweet potatoes, yummy.  Meanwhile his neck is strong and he is working on pushing himself up and an attempted roll (though he isn't so close yet).

Adam's 4 month checkup

Adam turned 4 months old last week so off to the doc for some measurements and shots.  The stats are as follows:

Height: 26" (90%)
Weight: 16lbs 12oz (90%)
Head: 44.5cm? (90-95%)

A big boy!  Three shots later and we were out.  Now we start with the rice cereal and hopefully sleep through the night everynight (getting greedy, he already sleeps through the night 4 / 5 of 6 nights).

We tried to not swaddle him and well... not good results so we continue the swaddle, better for Mom and Dads sanity.

Ice Skating

Today was our first attempt at ice skating with Nick. He was definetly not sure about this but he gave it a go. Mom is our resident skater so she took him out while I watched Adam. It went well the first lap but not the second. Stay tuned for the video of the whole trip and the untimely end. Jen has a crazy fat bruise on her knee.

Lets skate

Picnic Party (aka Girl Power)

We had a picnic party this weekend with some friends. It was fun and we will do it again. However, it will always be known as the Girl Power party due to the fact that Adam was wearing a bib that said Girl Power on it and somehow Everyone noticed! Nick had a great time playing with the other kids and the adults had a good time visiting. Thanks to all that attended, see you next time.

Fire, sweet.

Note: Someone gave us that bib, whoever it was needs to go sit in a corner... Now.
