Disneyland weekend

Jen and Nick went to Disneyland this weekend to get Nick in for free before he turned 3. They headed out on Friday morning and got back Sunday night so it was a full weekend for them. Lots of stories like losing the car (and Nick noting each attempt to find it), Nick telling mom, "I know there is a line at the Toy Story ride but I want to go ride it anyway" and the many parades (1 of which he danced - not happily I may add - see below). Overall a great trip and the last free one for Nick.

On a side note, Dad and Adam had a love hate weekend. There wasn't a middle ground for Adam, he was either pissed or really happy. It probably had to do with his first teeth coming in! On the bottom 1 is fully broken through the gum and a 2nd is starting. Pretty soon he will have a mouth full of teeth ready to chomp some unsuspecting fingers.

Monsoon

The monsoon has shown up in Phoenix which is very welcome since it will drop the temp by at least 10 degrees. A downside however occurs when you have a little kid who is scared of the thunder that comes with the monsoon. Adam is doing good and Nick is okay but definitely not liking the lightning and thunder.

With the new bunk bed the beds are now a twin so not so comfy to share with an adult and a roaming 3 year old. The thunder complicates this as to force Mom to sleep with Nick. I tried to convince him he would be fine but when Mom went in he had this to say: "My animal friends can't protect me from the thunder". Now that is sad and hilarious at the same time. Hopefully the rain can come with minimal thunder.

Bunk Bed

Ever since we got back from Disneyland we had scrapped the crib and Nick was sleeping on the futon on the ground. We saw this bunk bed a while back and like it because of the stairs but we were looking for a dresser for Jen so we moved on. Then Jen saw another bunk bed and thought, it is time. Nick was very excited when he saw it so it was a go. Now we have two beds, 1 for Nick and a future Adam / Grandma / Mom / friend bed.

It's snowing in July

Snow in Phoenix in July while wearing shorts. While I don't enjoy this time of year to much it does offer some unique moments. Nick and Jen went to the zoo on Sat. to enjoy the snow. They had fun but after the snow Nick played at the Tree house, at which point Jen noted how HOT it was.

The boys update

Our two boys continue to get bigger and more interesting.

Adam just turned 6 months and is really a good boy. He has been a little under the weather lately but overall he is great. He can sit up on his own (steady but still very tipable) and will reach out to be picked up if you come over to him. He even holds his milk while drinking (Nick never really did that). He is still a monster and will see the stats shortly when we do the 6 month checkup.

Our getting big boy.

Nick is very verbal and definitely has a mind of his own. My favorite thing about him right now is when you ask him a question he will say "hmm, let me think... maybe " and whatever he decided upon (like thinking that Adam will go shopping instead of him). Interesting to see him have wants and thoughts. He is totally potty trained and occasionally hits the john with no help from the old people (not always a good thing though). He remembers everything and likes to sing a lot (see upcoming video of the Boston song).

New Hampshire and back

We are back from our wonderful adventure in New Hampshire with Jen's friends and their parents. We had two great weeks in the cool (and many times rainy) weather. We stayed at Emily's parents house on Lake Winnipesaukee. It is very nice and a good location sitting in a good size cove that keeps it nice and intimate. We did all we could from paddle boat, power boat, kayak, blow up dolphin to just plain swimming. I will be uploading tons of pictures and some videos and I am getting tired so not much else today. I must however thank the folks up in NH that made the trip excellent, so umm, thanks.

Picture of the trip I think.
