Mom passed her test

A couple weeks ago Jen passed her citizen test.  Nick was wondering what Mom and Dad where talking about so we let him know that Mom passed her test.  He said "Good job, Mom passed her test".  Well today was the actual swearing in and oath which is when you actually become a US citizen.  Congrats to Mom, she done good.

Our newest citizen.

Adam and his teachers are making a family tree for the kids in the class.  I thought it was pretty cute.

The joke is on Dad

A while back Nick visited a cat that Krista was taking care of while the owners where away. He liked it a lot so I made sure when the opportunity arose he could go see the cat again. Well that is about to happen (today).

So on the way to school I asked if he wanted to go see Snowball with Krista. He said yes and got excited, he then said, "we get to roll it too" so I asked if he got to roll the cat before. He said "Noooo, Snowball".

You probably get where this is going, the cat is not named Snowball (Dad's bad memory) but is named Sammy. Thus Nick thought he was going to see snow and that is why you can roll it, to make the snowball. This kid is going to be trouble, already smarter then me!

Nick's favorite B-day toys

We have been doling out Nick's birthday presents slowly to increase the longevity of the gifts. So far his two favorites are the Elefun game and the Bouncy house (2 kid version). Thanks to all for the presents and the fun at the real bounce house.

Elefun net catching Nick.

Big Day / Week

This week the McDonalds on the way home (with a kids area) opened, hurrah.

Nick and the new Old McDonalds

Actually that is not the big news of the Day / Week for Nick. This week he transfers from the transition room (Bye Ms. Barb, we will miss you so....) and heads to his preschool class with Ms. Yvonne and Ms. Sarah (though she just had a little one so no Sarah for a while). He had his first few hours there and he loved it. He has some friends there so I am sure it won't be a hard transition (till he sees Barb or Melanie anyway).

Bloody nose oh my!

Ok, first off, there is no photographic evidence for a reason. I had a quick thought to capture it but it was pretty crazy and no good would come from it so we went straight to clean up mode.

Jen and I just got home for a dinner without the boys, babysitter name redacted, and Nick was calling for some help [the babysitter was right to not go, gotta get the kid to sleep, no worries redacted :P]. I went on up and the light was off but Nick said he had a bloody nose. So I go get a tissue, turn on the light and go over to help him.

At this point you can visualize the movie Carrie and know what I see, Crazy! Face and hands covered in blood from a double bloody nose. So I picked him up and headed to the bathroom with a side jaunt to the stairs to call for reinforcements, the ladies had quite an expression when seeing my little red boy.

15 minutes later and plenty of stuff going into the wash all was back to normal. Pretty nutty stuff when you have kids. I don't think I will forget that sight though!

Trip to the park

Dad and the boys went to the park earlier this week. Not to often the boys go together so far but we hitched the wagon up and went for a stroll. Not to hot and had some fun.

Boys in the tub

While Nick is getting older, well so too is his younger brother. Yesterday was Adam's first big tub bath so why not share it with his big brother. They had a great time but Adam doesn't get the whole thrust forward face first into the water thing.

Rub a dub dub, two boys in the tub.

Happy 3rd Birthday Nick

Nick turned 3 today. Technically he wasn't born until the evening but hey, the state says he is three and so do I. Happy bday buddy, Mom, Dad and Adam love you very much.

Okay I smiled, now where are the bouncy houses?

Arrogant Bastard

Remember, this is the whole family blog, not just the cute ones. Here is one for Uncle Herb. Word on the street is there is a mini keg with New Castle Brown for draft at home. So far it is an urban legend but I found some that Herb liked (at least the name).

Ikea end of summer extravaganza

As moms trip to Cali was winding down Dad and the boys were winding down. To "finish" off the summer we went to Ikea. Actually we had no idea what the heck was going on, turns out the Sweds have a crawfish party at the end of summer. Luckily they had plenty of meatballs for us.

Happy Birthday Micah and Grandma

Today was a long day. First we wished Mom a happy voyage as she goes to CA to visit some friends from high school (don't drink too much wine Mom). Then the family came over to watch Adam while Nick and Dad went to Micah's Happy Day.

The party was really fun and we had a good time seeing Micah and the two kiddos had a lot of fun playing with each other. They will get to see each other again in a week and Nick's party. Nick's favorite pastime of course is eating frosting so he got to hone his skills.

Nick's cupcake

On a side note, while the fam was here there was a couple outings in the pool. The first one (with the girls) was uneventful but fun. The second (with the boys) was more fun and lots more dramatic. As Uncle Herb went to get some hidden treasure at the bottom of the pool he got up close and personal with the steps. It didn't seem to bother him much but maybe the Kiltlifters had something to do with that...

The picture doesn't do it justice, Whack!

Oh yea, Happy Birthday to Micah and Grandma.

Once again

Adam is getting bigger and now getting to do the stuff Nick did as a little guy. A new favorite for Adam is the water play (Nick still loves his water play days of course). Not quite in the tub yet but we are told he does enjoy it.

He also got his second tooth on the bottom. The teeth are through the gum but not fully in yet, don't let him eat your finger, you will regret it.

Steamboat Willy

Jen got the kids a copy of Steamboat Willy when she and Nick went to Disneyland. Today was the first time we broke it out though and both boys enjoyed it (at least 10 minutes).

Focused on Steamboat Willy.
