Today was the day, staple removal day. He choose Mom to take him to the doctor to get the staples removed. The first one came out easy but the second was not so nice, taking a bit of proding to get out. Nick was a trooper and hung in really well. He is now healed and hopefully a bit more careful around the edge of beds (here is where the Dad belief comes in... "Let him do it, he won't do it again!).
Otherwise Nick is really getting to be a big boy, size 10 (in kids anyway) shoes, definitely his own desires and wishes, some of which go unfulfilled and end with an unhappy boy. He loves to draw and do his letters / workbook. He draws to scale and adds a backdrop to the picture. Below is a picture of the family (you can tell everyone by the size - yes Dad is humongous) along with some rain (it rained the day he made the picture).
Mom, Dad, Adam and Nick (in the rain).
Nick writing the ABCs in his new book.
As we are hitting the road soon we are gathering up some new items to eat some time on the road. Above is a new book that uses a marker and erasable pages to do different things, such as writing the alphabet.
So as to not leave Adam out, he is doing great. He eats a ton and is getting so big! He will be bigger then Nick in a year. He walks great, he uses sign language to communicate food basics and uses the word No a lot. He is a bit attached to Dad at the moment but getting better everyday so he can play with Nick or by himself.
The other day at school we got a great treat, Mom had gone to get Nick, and Dad had gone to get Adam, we saw each other in the big room at day care and when Nick and Adam saw each other they went towards the other and gave a big hug, very cute.
